Dr. Marijke De Soete
Dr. Marijke De Soete is offering consultancy services since April 2004 for systems and applications based on emerging technologies, in particular related to security. Before she was holding various positions at Europay and subsequently MasterCard, where she managed departments responsible for the security aspects of chip card based payment products including the development and operation of supporting services such as key management and product approval. From 1989 till 1994 Marijke worked for Philips where her team was in charge of the design and implementation of cryptographic protocols and security services using chip cards.
She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Ghent University (Belgium) and was more than 15 years involved in research in mathematics and cryptography. Marijke has been and is still active in several standardisation committees in the domain of IT security and chip cards including ISO, ETSI and GlobalPlatform. She was involved in the creation of EMVCo and acted as a Board member for several years. She is Vice-Chair of ISO/IEC JTC 1 /SC 27, IT security techniques since 2004.

Bastien Latge as Director of Technology, balances his time between critical EMVCo priorities. Central to his role is the oversight of internal technical developments across EMVCo’s working groups and the representation EMVCo in its liaison work with other technical bodies, to ensure effective collaboration and industry alignment in EMVCo’s technical matters.
With over 15 years of experience within the payments industry, Bastien joins EMVCo from INSIDE Secure, where he held a number of different positions in the areas of payment (Contact, Contactless and Mobile), including Mobile Software Products Director. He has also held roles at Smart Consulting, in the area of terminal and card certification, and Gemplus (now Gemalto).
Richard Ledain is a payment expert with over 15 years of experience in the payment industry, Richard Ledain is currently working for the 3DS task force within EMVCo. After 14 years in aerospace industry, he moved to Visa and the finance industry. He managed the EMV migration in Europe, then various card, contactless and mobile programs. Richard holds an Master Engineer degree from Ecole National Superieur Electronique et Application (France) and a certificate in Business management.
Carlos Silvestre is a representative of the EMVCo Next Generation Task Force and Level 2 Working Group.
Carlos is UK based and currently serves as a Solutions Architect, with focus on EMV chip, mobile and advanced payments products, within Global Merchant Network Technology at American Express.
